Star-Lo Electric employs over 260 journeymen. We maintain an excellent working relationship with local unions so we have a stable and productive workforce.

Our talented staff of project managers, construction managers, field supervisory personnel, and design engineers know how to manage highly specialized technical projects. Their efforts are supported by our state-of-the-art, computerized project management systems.

As President of Star-Lo my responsibility is to oversee day-to-day operations. All Project Managers report to me. I personally handle all job negotiations. I pride myself in the fact that I know all the projects in progress, and I know all the men manning the projects. I am a hands-on person that has his finger on the pulse of Star-Lo.

I have worked in the electrical business since 1967, starting part-time in high school. After I received my electrical license in 1974, I proceeded to develop Star-Lo into one of New Jersey’s top contractors. I am a member of NECA, NEPA, NJ Electrical Inspectors Association, and the Whippany Rotary.

My role as Vice President includes working in the field with electricians from all our local unions including 102, 164, 269, 351, 400, and 456. I share in all operating decisions, troubleshoot problems in the field, and scout new talent to join our growing company. Since I started in 1971, I have been trained in new home wiring, steam fitting and plumbing, and all phases of electrical wiring.

As Chief Estimator I estimate and coordinate incoming bids with general contractors to distribute the workload. I review bids of three other estimators, conduct scope reviews, and handle price negotiations.

My responsibilities include coordination of engineering and field site layouts. I coordinate assignments for our field engineering staff to utilize our BIM/AUTOCAD 3D capabilities in conjunction with NAVISWORKS for trade coordination and building interface to the base building modeling system. I oversee electrical construction installation with daily interface on all installation details. I also furnish documentation for conformance to specifications and provide engineering liaison services.

Since 1978, I have worked on many major national and international projects for other large contractors before joining Star-Lo in 1998. In addition to being a Licensed Electrical Contractor, I have a B.S.C.E. in Civil Engineering and a B.A. in Industrial Technology.

Safety Director

Responsible for creating, maintaining, and enforcing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and subcontractors on all job sites. Responsibilities include outlining safe operational procedures which identify all relevant hazards, and accurately assess risks. Ensure that OSHA standards are adhered to at all times. Conduct regular inspections to check that policies and procedures are being properly implemented, and that all materials, tools and equipment are in safe and proper working order. Gather and report safety statistics. Carry out investigations, liaise with relevant authorities and produce reports and recommendations, in the event of an accident.

Controller

Primary duties are to  oversee the operations of the accounting department. Responsible for all day-to-day financial activities and process controls including financial reporting, budgeting, forecast and general accounting. Direct interaction with the President, CFO, Project Managers  concerning financial forecasts and reports. Prepare weekly payroll.

Has over 20 years of experience in Real Estate and Construction Accounting. Holds an MBA from Montclair State University.

As a Project Manager for Star-Lo Electric with over 23 years of professional industry experience, Tim oversees the coordination and execution of our projects ranging from Small Business needs to large-scale Commercial and Industrial work.

Maintaining Star-Lo’s commitment to professionalism and accuracy allows Tim to focus on the needs of our clients, and deliver on our promise of superior, cost-efficient work. In addition to managing our manpower on site, his main role is to ensure value engineering of our contracts. Responsible for start-to-finish management of our jobs, he also reviews changes and updates that may be required as a project progresses. Working closely with all facets of Star-Lo’s operations, as well as local unions, it’s Tim’s job to see that our projects are completed on time and on budget.

Over 30 years in construction industry. A member of IBEW Local Union 102 for 27 years. Latest projects include the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ; Prudential Center in Newark, NJ; and Verizon Headquarters in Basking Ridge, NJ. Experienced in all aspects of electrical industry, power distribution, generators, lighting and control systems. Responsibilities at Star-Lo are to manage projects from start to finish. Hold Electrical License for State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities include complete oversight of current projects, coordinating manpower & crews staffing, material & equipment purchases, contact & review of vendors & suppliers, and implementation of project contracts & documents. Maintain successful relationships with multiple large & diverse clients throughout the New Jersey market. Current projects include large corporate data centers, commercial office fit-outs, new warehousing facilities, utility sub-stations, solar installations, and professional sports facilities.

30 year IBEW member; NJ licensed electrical contractor; received Project Management Certificate from County College of Morris; attended William Paterson College. Employed 25 years with Star-Lo Electric.

Over 24 years experience in the electrical trade. Starting in 1985 as a member of LU 581, I have worked on numerous projects as a journeyman wireman, foreman and project manager. I have spent nearly 20 years of that time at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. I am trained in Excel, Word and AutoCAD; I have also developed my own estimating and manpower loading systems.

In that time, Pedro has built a wide range of expertise working on projects ranging from retail space renovations to new construction for condominiums to large scale electrical infrastructure upgrades and more. Pedro has experience in Power Distribution, Generators, Lighting & Controls, Fire Alarm, Access Control Systems, Video Surveillance, Audio Visual and BMS systems. He specializes in executing and coordinating manpower material & equipment purchases, contract analyses, review of vendors & suppliers. He also maintains successful relationships with multiple large & diverse clients ranging from Critical Transportation, Hospitals, Universities, NJ Counties, etc.
